CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Douglas Kamwendo has over 20 years’ experience in the Banking and Finance industry. Prior to joining FINCA as Chief Executive Officer, he held several senior banking positions in Sub-Saharan and Eastern Africa.
Douglas led the Personal and Business Banking division in Standard Bank Malawi, Tanzania and Uganda. Apart from building successful retail banking units, he was responsible for the seamless merger of CBM Financial Services Limited and Standard Bank Malawi.
Among his accomplishments, Douglas is an Honorary Member of the Certified International Academy of Retail Banking, Certified Public Accountant and Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Manchester and Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Malawi. In addition, he was awarded the prestigious Real World Risk Management Certificate from the acclaimed Real World Risk Institute in the United States of America.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Mzondiwe Mwanza is a finance professional with over 12 years’ experience. He possesses a wealth of experience in banking and finance.
Before joining FINCA as Chief Financial Officer in 2018, he served in various roles including; Manager Assets and Liabilities, Finance Manager-Personal and Business Banking and Manager -Reporting and Budgeting among other roles at Stanbic Bank Zambia Limited. He was responsible for financial strategy and capital management among other functions. Mzondiwe has developed a strong competencies in financial strategy and organizational engineering over the course of his career. Early in his career, Mzondiwe served in several finance and planning positions at Zambian Airways Limited.
He holds an M.Sc. in Strategic Business Management from Manchester Metropolitan University. He is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and Chartered Global Management Accountants (CGMA)
LEGAL COUNSEL AND COMPANY SECRETARY
Triphine Miyanda is a corporate lawyer with 10 years’ experience in commercial transactions, negotiating, company secretarial functions, legal research and advisory services, regulatory compliance and stakeholder management, litigation, merger and acquisitions and project management.
Triphine has worked in both the public and private sector. Prior to joining FINCA she worked as Local In-house Legal Counsel for Efferton Group managing 3 operations in Zambia. She was responsible for establishing the legal department and was in charge of all legal issues with respect to operations and regulatory compliance.
Before joining Efferton Group, she worked as a Commercial and Regulatory Specialist in the corporate affairs department with MTN Zambia Limited (MTNZ). She was instrumental in establishing and setting up the legal and regulatory unit as well as in the issuance and set up of MTN Mobile Money Limited. Her experience extends to the Ministry of Justice as State Advocate in the Attorney General’s chambers.
She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration with the Eastern and Southern Management Institute in Tanzania. Triphine holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University Zambia and a practicing certificate from the Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education.
Dr. Chilao Mutesa
HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
Dr. Chilao Mutesa
Chilao Mutesa is a human resource practitioner with fifteen years of work experience. Chilao is currently the Human Resource Manager for FINCA Zambia. Prior to joining FINCA, he was Human Resource Project Coordinator, First Quantum Mining and Operations in Solwezi where he deployed human resource systems, collective bargaining as well as engaged as Dean at Northrise University where he developed courses including Zambia’s first online Diploma in Human Resource Management.
Chilao worked as Director Human Resources and later Director Corporate Planning at the Zambia Telecommunications Company and Head of Management Development at Konkola Copper Mines. He has served on the national council of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management, a body set up by Parliament to regulate the human resource profession.
Chilao has a Diploma in Management and Masters in Business Administration from Hull University and a PhD in Management Education from the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside in the United Kingdom. He has a Certificate in Labour Law from the University of Cape Town in South Africa and is a certified Mediator by the Zambian Judiciary.
Chilao sits on the boards of Northrise Medical Centre, Occupational Health and Safety Institute HR Committee of the Board and M & C Trading.
FINCA Zambia Management Board
Collin Muyanja is a telecoms industry and management expert with over fifteen years executive leadership experience. He worked for MTN in Uganda and Zambia as a Sales and Distribution Director and prior to that in Celtel Uganda before resigning to pursue private business. He is currently involved in various private enterprise projects in the region including construction, manufacturing, property development and agribusiness
Mr. Muyanja holds a Bachelor of Arts and MBA from Makerere University. He has completed executive development and leadership programs at Global Institute of Business Science (GIBBS) and Telecoms Academy Informa (UK).
Mike Gama-Lobo has over a decade of management leadership with FINCA. He led FINCA subsidiaries in Haiti, Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania through rapid expansion in the midst of major political upheavals. He began his career in small- and micro-enterprise financial services while serving with the Peace Corps in Haiti. Mr. Gama-Lobo has a bachelor’s degree in Business Management Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Isaiah .G. Chindumba
Isaiah .G. Chindumba
Isaiah G Chindumba is a Financial Services Professional with over 33 years of banking experience. He worked for Citibank Zambia Ltd in various capacities for 23 years until 2008. In 2009 he moved to Rwanda where he took up the Chief Operating Officer role at (BCR) now I&M Bank Rwanda Ltd until 2015.He later in the year (2015) was appointed as Chief Operating Officer for Investrust Bank PLC a local Zambian Commercial bank until November 2017. He is also a Non-Executive Board member of three FINCA subsidiaries in Africa. Isaiah has business interests in the Insurance and Tourism sector in Zambia. Mr. Chindumba holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree, a Post Graduate Diploma in International Law from University of Zambia and holder of Awards in Marketing and Strategic Planning from Edinburgh Business School.
Lameck Zimba has vast experience in the financial sector, having worked for the central bank (the Bank of Zambia) for about thirty (30) years where he gained invaluable experience in supervising both commercial banks and non-bank financial institutions in his capacity as the Director of the Bank Supervision. Lameck has an Associateship Certificate from the Chartered Institute of Bankers at City Banking College in the UK and a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree from the University of Zambia.
